VocalCrystal is a complete vocal channel in one window, set up the way engineers do it in big studios. Low Cut removes rumble and plosives, De-Mud cuts the boxiness out of the low mids, and Body adds warmth where the voice has its weight. The dynamics work in two stages. First a phrase leveller: it lifts quiet phrases by up to 7 dB, turns loud ones down by up to 10 dB, and holds still in the pauses. Then a fast compressor catches individual syllables and peaks. The thresholds are measured against the level of the vocal itself, so the same setting behaves the same on a quiet take and on a loud one. Makeup is calculated from the signal's energy, so compression never makes the vocal quieter, and Auto gain also accounts for what the EQ does. Brightness brings out clarity and presence, Air adds sheen on top, and De-Ess is a dynamic shelf from 4.8 kHz: it compares each S with the vowels and turns it down only when it really sticks out. Density adds parallel tube saturation — the voice gets fuller and closer. Width widens the vocal in the side channel only, so in mono (phone, club) it sounds exactly the same. A look-ahead peak limiter at −1.2 dBFS sits on the output. The display shows the whole EQ curve over the output spectrum plus a needle meter for the reduction of both compressors.
