Velvet is a whole wall of keyboards in one plug-in: 318 recorded sounds in 11 categories — concert grands, old uprights, tine and reed electric pianos, celestas, bells and vibes, clavs with wah and phaser, clavichord, keyboard zither and electric harpsichord, toy pianos, hybrids, 80s and 90s digital keys, pump reed organs and key basses. Every sound has its own name and category, and the browser with search finds what you need in a second — type “lo-fi”, “bell” or “tine”. Every sound has a measured pitch, so it plays chromatically and in tune across the whole keyboard, repitched with alias-free sinc interpolation. Gate mode behaves like real keys — let go and the note rings out — and velocity changes not only the level but the tone too: soft notes are darker, hard notes brighter. Four macros change the character in one move: TONE darkens or brightens, WARMTH adds tape warmth, WOBBLE brings an old-cassette pitch drift, SPACE opens a reverb. On top: tremolo (pulsing or sweeping between the speakers like a suitcase electric piano, also in project tempo), ADSR, a filter with its own envelope, playback start, reverse, Poly / Mono / Legato with glide and 9 effects. Sounds are loaded into memory only when you use them — the plug-in starts fast and doesn't eat gigabytes of RAM. Over 40 presets for lo-fi, trap, R&B, neo-soul and film music.
