Smooth analyses your signal nearly a hundred times per second across more than a thousand bands at once and finds the frequencies that stick out from their surroundings: piercing 2–5 kHz in a vocal, hissing sibilance, glassy hi-hats, ringing piano and room resonances, boomy low mids. It turns down exactly those spots, and only while they are there — as soon as a resonance goes away, the band comes back to full level. It is not a static EQ or a multiband compressor: tone, transients and loudness stay, only the part that tires your ears is gone.
Depth sets how much to smooth, Sharpness how narrow the resonances it catches can be (from broad regions down to single ringing partials), and Selectivity how much something has to stick out before it gets reduced. Attack and Release set the speed of the reaction, the Low–High range (dragged right on the display) and Focus steer the processing towards the lows or the highs. Soft mode sounds transparent, Hard cuts deeper and more precisely. It recognises harmonic sounds, so it never flattens the healthy overtones of a vocal or a synth — it reacts to what really stands out.
The display shows the live spectrum, a glowing reduction curve and the highlighted peaks being shaved off, and Delta lets you hear only the signal being removed. A sample-accurate, latency-aligned Mix allows parallel smoothing. 16 presets: vocals, de-essing, hi-hats, snare, 808, piano, guitar, leads, samples, mix and master.
