808 Phone makes 808s and bass audible on phones, laptops and small speakers, while the low end stays just as powerful in the club and on headphones. A phone speaker barely plays anything below 300–400 Hz, so a clean sub simply disappears. The plugin splits the bass into two layers: the SUB stays untouched, and controlled harmonics are generated from it in the range a phone can reproduce — your ear fills in the fundamental by itself. The harmonics are derived from the bass note, so they stay in pitch through glides and slides — nothing goes out of tune or buzzes, and oversampling up to 8× removes aliasing. Saturation adds warmth and weight, Distortion adds grit for drill and rage, Color moves the tone between even (warm, octave) and odd (growl) harmonics, Density sets how many upper harmonics are generated, and Harm Low and Harm High set the band of the layer. The layer level is compensated, so changing the character doesn't make the volume jump. Clean Sub keeps the low end clean (multiband operation); switch it off and the sub gets driven too. Bass Mono and a Soft Clip with an output ceiling make sure nothing clips. The display shows the original, the SUB layer (violet) and the HARMONICS layer (amber) separately, detects the 808 note and draws its harmonics against the range of a phone speaker — drag the band edges with the mouse. PHONE CHECK measures how much louder your bass will be on a phone, and the Phone monitor simulates a phone speaker, so you hear the result right away without sending the beat to your phone.
